Graphite Golf Set Questions

It would be fine for a beginner, BUT-- If you are serious and thoroughly enjoy golf then I would get a better set and driver. Get any name brand set and you will be way better off. By name brand I mean Cleveland, TaylorMade, Callaway. ect. . .. They are expensive to start but get a used set for around the same price you will spend here. I learned this first hand because when I first started playing I got a cheap set like the one you have here and they were just bad. The driver head flew off so I got another driver ( a cheap one) that lasted about a month before it broke. I went out and actually got a TaylorMade Burner driver which is the best darn club in my bag. The quality is outstanding. I've had it a long time now and It is still in mint condition. After that I got some cleveland irons for 90 bucks used on eBay and they are fantastic! They hit way better than the cheap ones. You pay for what you get. Just start with a good set and you'll save money on the long run and dont have to get frustrated.

beginner golf set advice?

Hi all,

Well, I've looked at all those sets and its a tough decision. I'm not a big fan of buying cheap sets like this because they have little to no resale value. Also, the fact that when you start out struggling, which every new golfer does, you'll always wonder if its because you have cheap clubs and not lack of skill...lol.

However, if I had to choose one of those sets I'd pick one of the two that has the 3 and 4 hybrid irons, the Wilson or the Ram set. The Confidence Golf set is probably the best quality. I once had a set of Confidence Z Series clubs and they were quite decent, especially the irons. Years ago, back in the 70's Confidence Golf clubs were actually played on the PGA Tour believe it or not. Still, that set has no hybrids so I'd pass on that one.

I'm not that familiar with RAM or Wilson but I'd imagine there probably the same quality so you would be fine going with either one of those. I like the look of the RAM clubs better and you also have to option of getting all graphite where the others looks like the irons have steel shafts.
